How to register for the French as a Foreign Language course

To be eligible for registration, you must:

  • be a high school graduate
  • have passed a university entrance examination for some countries (for example the Gaokao in China)
  • hold a college degree or have completed two years of education at university level

 

To start the pre-registration process, fill in the form, print it and send it EXCLUSIVELY BY POST, together with:  

  • a copy of the documentation showing you meet the above requirements l
  • a check for € 67  (non refundable) to "M. l'Agent comptable lille3", for the pre-registration fees
  • 4 reply coupons (to be bought at your local post-office) or 3  €  0,56€  stamps (if you live currentlyin France)
  • If you are a resident in France:  the copy of your residence permit (carte de séjour)and a copy of your student ID (carte d'étudiant) if you are currently a student

As soon as we receive your pre-registration application form, we will send you a certificate of pre-registration (attestation de pré-inscription) which you must show to the consulate  at the French embassy to apply for the long term student visa (visa étudiant long séjour) or visa D. Citizens of the EC and EEE and citizens of Switzerland do not need a visa.
